Sam is living the dream....getting a pet dog BUT how will he know which pup to pick?? As he travels to the shelter he and Grandma check out the different dogs they pass. This part of the book reminded me of Deborah Heiligman's books Sun Dog, Fun Dog and Cool Dog, School Dog. Kid's love dogs and books about dogs always go over well so I am sure the kids will love this book as well.
