Two of my favorites: author Karen Kaufman Orloff and illustrator (and Ohio resident! yeehaw!) Tim Bowers, team up on this cute story of a boy who really just wants his dog to talk. The boy explains all the things he and his dog could do together if ONLY they could communicate. What the boy realizes is that in fact, they do communicate, in their own way. Children will enjoy the idea that an animal can do such things as being a contestant on a quiz show or coaching the soccer team
