My School In the Rainforest by Margriet Ruurs
Travel to thirteen other countries/locations to learn about "school". Included with each explanation is photographs, a map, flag, and short general information paragraph for each country. This book is an excellent look at countries around the world and how the lives of these children are different, and how they are alike, compared to the children in our classrooms.
Story: 5 Buckeye leaves (very informative)
Illustrations: 5 Buckeye leaves (Great pictures to match text)
My School In the Rainforest is a follow up to Margriet Ruurs previous book My Librarian Is A Camel (2005) which examines "libraries" in different places around the world. As in the previously mentioned book, each country/location visited includes a map, flag, and short informational paragraph. Another great resource about other locations around the world.
