Love. This. Book! Cinderella and Snow White have decided to become pen pals. Through a series of letters back and forth, the two stories of Snow White and Cinderella are told in a new way. Kids will love picking out some of the details of the two stories as they are woven together. Awesome!

Love, Mouserella by David Ezra Stein

From the creator of the Caldecott Honor Book, Interrupting Chickens, comes a new, creatively designed, picture book Love, Mouserella. When Grandmouse is gone, little Mouserella misses her and decides to write a letter to her, complete with pictures! At first she can not think of anything to write but that soon changes and she can't stop. From her exciting news about Willy, her former caterpillar and now a chrysalis, to her trip to the air conditioned museum, with corresponding photo, Mouserella fills in Grandmouse with everything she has missed since leaving. A sweet book, with unique format which will hook children from the beginning to the end. Classroom possibilities for this one is endless.

Everything I Need To Know Before I'm Five by Valorie Fisher

This book has it all! Colors - check. Shapes - check. Numbers - check. An overview of all the basic we work so hard on with our preschool age kids. A great book to keep in the car for the kids when stuck in traffic or waiting for a table or slow service at a restaurant. Reminds me of Denise Fleming's The Everything Book. Would make a great birthday gift for a 3 or 4 year old.

Help Me, Mr. Mutt: Expert Answers for Dogs with People Problems by Janet Stevens and Susan Stevens Crummel

Are you a dog put on a diet by "your "people"? Your "people" not wanting to play? You tired of being dressed up in ridiculous outfits? Sounds like you need Mr. Mutt, Canine Counselor. Write a letter to Mr Mutt and he will try to respond with valuable information to help solve your "people" problems. BUT beware, The Queen, the cat that lives with Mr. Mutt, is always trying to interfere and take over Mr. Mutt's clients. Hilarious book that would be enjoyed by many grades, most especially the older elementary kids. Great book for reviewing letter writing or having fun!
Story: 5 Buckeye Leaves - hilarious!

Thank You, Miss Doover by Robin Pulver

My guess is there are ALOT of parents that could use this book!!! Miss Doover is having her class write thank you letters. Jack is trying to write his letter to Great Aunt Gertie for the personalized stationary. He soon learns that there are many things to include and consider when writing thank you letters. Through the guidance of Miss Doover, Jack is finally able to write a thank you letter he, and Miss Doover, can be proud of.

LaRue Across America: Postcards from the Vacation by Mark Teague

Mark Teague's latest LaRue book takes readers on a road trip across the United States. Ike is really hoping for a relaxing cruise but that does not happen when instead he must go on vacation with Mrs. Hibbin's cats after she falls ill. The cats are not allowed aboard the ship, so instead they hit the road, and of course, there is trouble from the start. I love the humor in the LaRue books. They can be enjoyed by younger kids but I think the older elementary kids can truly appreciate the humor on a different level.
Story: 5 Buckeye leaves - funny as always AND could spur some great geography lessons

Shout! Shout it Out! By Denise Fleming

Younger kids will love the latest book from Ohio favorite, Denis Fleming. From numbers to colors kids will love the invitation to SHOUT, not that most kids need an invitation!!! It has a certain rhythm to the text that even after reading it, Adam and I were saying the words. Love Denise for my little one!
